The Eri Festival

Olili Eri, the celebration of the origin of the Igbo

Each year, Ndi Igbo, the descendants of Eri, gather in Aguleri to remember his arrival at Agbanagbo, where the Ezu and Omambala rivers meet. Prayers at the confluence open the day, followed by dancing, masquerades, cultural displays, trade fairs and music at the ancient Obu-Gad Palace.
